Getting There is the product of a musical and personal journey that spans the continent. Recorded in New York, Virginia, British Columbia and Newfoundland, the album was carefully crafted over a two-year period, and serves as a great introduction to this fine songwriter’s talent.

Alan’s Bio

Alan Kirk’s songs have been placed in TV shows, commercials, film and with other recording artists. He has played solo and with various groups  in the U.S., Canada, Europe and beyond.Starting his performing career in the U.S.  as a teenager, Alan moved to Canada to continue playing and writing, while  working in the music industry -  making lasting contacts in music production, publishing and film. His stylistic influences have ranged from Classic Rock to Alternative to Electronica,  giving Alan appeal to a broad cross section of the listening audience.He continues to write great music, play with his band The Alternators, and work on a variety of projects for Phonic Records. Alan currently lives in the Nelson area in British Columbia, Canada, where he finds inspiration from the areas natural beauty and ecclectic, creative culture.The Switch band touring lineup includes Alan, bassist Charly Maucher from the iconic German band Jane, Ray Yule on keyboards, and veteran Vancouver drummer Kim Masse.
