Open Season

Open Season is one of the finest to come out of the simmering Nelson area music scene in British Columbia. This is a band to watch, with talent, versatility and heart. Open Season

Open Season’s  music can be heavy and aggressive, fast and pounding, or sparse and haunting. Their sound is unified by  the constant presence of driving rhythms, edgy guitars, tasteful harmonies and innovative arrangements. Brad Mair plays guitar, drums, and sings lead vocals; Brian Michaux plays guitar and sings backup vocals; Steve Cleary is on bass ,  and Clinton Swanson rounds out the group on piano, sax, flute, vocals and additional drums. The band is based in Nelson, B.C., where they are involved in various live and recording projects. As they did on their four song EP, the band chose a raw, no nonsense production style for their new album. Mair says, “this honest production approach accurately reflects our live shows and our idea of what this band is about.”
